This is getting ridiculous where the police are arresting anyone who posts anything mildly inflammatory.
Don't know if my sarcasm meter is broken, but so what if she swam the last 50m faster? Overall Shiwen's record was 25s slower than the men's 400m. Maybe it was part of her game plan to conserve energy for the final stretch? If I recall, she wasn’t exactly pushing herself to the limit in the earlier sections, was she?
Nah, this is a case of sour grapes imo. Oh no, it’s unacceptable that anyone can be better than the mighty yanks, so it must be dope. Fact is, all medallists in London 2012 are tested rigorously and reports are saying she’s already undergone 100 tests to date. If so, why should such unsubstantiated accusations be tolerated or be given grounds of legitimacy? Because what the yanks are doing is not only attempting to bring the games into disrepute (by implying London 2012 is not doing its job properly), isn’t this sort of accusation potentially libellous?
I don't know how others see this, but I can't help feeling this FUD spotlight by the media has some sort of racist labelling undertone behind it. Yeah let’s take advantage of this and attempt to portray the Chinese as perennial cheats, never mind the fact that Shiwen and a lot of the Chinese swimmers are trained in Australia. So are the Aussie coaches part of the doping scene now? Until proven otherwise, this sort of FUD has no place in the games, nor should it be tolerated or be given any spotlight imo. It's disgusting how someone’s hard work be cynically called into question or ridiculed like that just because some people are sceptical. If so, the Chinese equally deserves the right to treat such scepticism with extreme prejudice as nothing but discriminatory labelling imo. In fact I say sue the shit out of that yank.
