Also, can someone confirm for me... is Lucas no longer considered a joke? Is he considered a decent player these days? And if so, when did this happen? My Liverpool banter is about 4 decades out of date.

Basically when quality players leave (Alonso) and are replaced by shite (Adam) the previous average players (Lucas) all of a sudden look decent alongside the newly added shite.

You could argue that Song and Walcott would be our versions of this phenomenon.

by the sounds of it, the money got into silly figures for a loan signing, this says to me that sahin was considered a luxary but not worth that money, and we are going to use it elsewhere.

also as reported, this was a signing to help with jacks recovery, perhaps the rumours he will recover a bit earlier then expected has stopped this one, if he was out till xmas, then its worth it, it ony another month then having a player and spending a lot isnt worth it.
