    Podolski is quality

Anyone whos seen him the last few years and not just at Euro 2012 would know that.

He can rightly be put up there as genuine quality in our squad along with Theo and Verm maybe Merts and prob Cazorla as well

    The rest?

Some reports are that the loan fee is £5m (which would make sense given that pool would offer more to get him as he preferred a move to us) and that they may be paying 100% of his wages to clinch he deal.

Which would work out at around the £9m mark for a seasons loan.

    Fuck that.

Think it's more to do with our penny pinching tbh. We're like those hard nosed employers who will look to squeeze labour costs to their bare minimum. If our owners owned a clothes factor in the developing world, there's no doubt they'd employ sweatshop labour.

Yeah the penny pinching would go under the meeting Wenger bit

It probably went something like this

    Wenger "Welcome to Arsenal"
Sahin "its a wonderful place, a brilliant stadium, a great pitch. I cant wait to play here on loan and then hopefully prove to you i am good enough for a permanent transfer"
Wenger "We all wish that of course. We are 2% away from domination. I believe you can be that 2%"
Sahin "so lets get down to business, how much will i get in wages while im here?"
Wenger "What?!!!!! You are on loan. We dont pay you. Bye"

    Sahin joins Liverpool

    Yes that's right.

Because £8-10m is good money to spunk on a seasons loan for a player that can't wait to go back to Real.

Well we're approaching the end of the transfer window so it's a bit of gamble to be thinking purely in economic terms. If this was the middle of the window, fair enough there would probably be enough time to find another player who offers more value for money. At this stage, perhaps fears about paying over the odds should be relegated to a secondary consideration. And anyway, £8-10M isn't a huge outlay. It's not as if we're looking to sign a £30M player.
