Last 5 quid I had in my Paypal account tbh, thought I might as well send it to Sky Bet.
Murray beat Djokovic in the Olympics
He can do it again
Come on Tim
could have given it to me, when i say thank you it wouldn't just be an automated response.
That said i am being a bit disingenuous.....he's got a chance.....but fact is I don't think he's played that well this tournament and he's had for me a far easier route to the final than Djokovic. I think if Berdych hadn't gone walkabout mentally in sets two and three.....i think he'd be playing in the final tonight not Murray.
Of course we can all go on about how close the semi was between Djokovic and Murray in Melbourne this year, but was it really that close.....Murray fought back really well after going a set down to go 2-1 ahead....but Djokovic absolutely blitzed him in the fourth set and for me despite breaking back there only ever looked like one winner in the fifth set.
Don't get me wrong I don't think Djokovic is at the same level he was at the start of the year, but neither is Murray for me......certainly no where near the form that brought him Olympic Gold......i think if this match had been played at the start of August I'd actually make Murray clear favorite to win....he was in the best form of his career and Djoko was stuttering along.....but despite a dodgy serve against Ferrer yesterday Djokovic looks in fits and starts to being near his best where as Murray has been misfiring all over the place.
Don't get me wrong he has shown remarkable fortitude this past fortnight.....he was in a bind against Feliciano Lopez and served his way out of it in the fourth set, very few people are capable of winning a set at 5-1 down but he did it against Cilic (who let's be fair completely crumbled after that) and to come back to win the tie break against Berdych from 4-1 down when the big Czech was clearly firing on all cylinders again was also impressive, but it's been very intermittent there has been flashes of Murray at his best combined with the Murray who dropped his serve twice in a row to Alex Bogmaolov Jnr and Feliciano Lopez....and being absolutely pulled apart by Marin Cillic for a great deal of the second set.
My point is a lot of these errors have come about through concentration lapses and complacency, with the exception of a tornado strewn first set and a low first serve percentage against David Ferrer...Novak Djokovic hasn't shown any such lapses....and has by defeating Del Potro and Ferrer respectively seen off two of the games' biggest hitters.
I think Murray needs to win the toss and serve first, because being on the back foot constantly against Djokovic will wear him down and i think he will need to take the opening set if he wants to win the match.
I've been thinking Djokovic will win in three sets.
