Dont get the criticism Vem is getting either.

He and Mert are our best CB partnership and no Verm shouldnt have dived in like that last night but there have been other times where he has and come out with a brilliant challenge.

Plus hes the best captain we've had since Vieira tbh

sometimes two centre backs may not be individually good but together they turn into a great pair. its much more than ability- its about understanding each other and complementing each other's style of play. mertesacker is calm and collected whilst verm is an aggressor. i think that works fine because both are experienced and read the game well.

kos will get his time. we're 4 games into a season ffs.

First 18 months here, Kos was downright terrible but got plenty of game time cos Verm was injured, Mert wasnt here and Toto and Djourou are even worse

he isn't 'getting it', just that many think his goals cover up his defensive abilities. kos is a better defender and should be ahead of him. but verm is captain so won't be dropped.
