I don't know. Maybe because the Dida one didn't involve on-field in-play action, well, not with other players anyway.
The Dida one was a while ago though so looking back for precedents probably isn't the best way to go.
I'm all for retrospective banning of diving, so long as they do the same for half the things Stoke get away with on a weekly basis.

I think punishment on dives has too many grey areas to enforce properly, therefore I'd say the best thing to do would be change how fouls can be committed. Also, more specificlly for pelanties to have a bit more of a specfic requirement than just being fouled anywhere in the area.
