I think we could get Holtby but we would need to flex our muscles a bit financially in terms of his wage offer. He fits the profile, "young", "bundles of potential", midfielder (who will probably be converted into a wide player), "technically gifted" etc etc.

I really like Holtby, if he's developed and managed properly he will turn into a top class player IMHO, he has a very high ceiling.

Arsenal do 'big money' for young players. Walcott and Chamberlain, even Ramsey. Once you get past the guff about Palace wanting £20m it won't be dissimilar to what Arsenal have agreed to pay lower league teams before. I'm fairly sure there will be an effort to sign Zaha.

Yeah that is true, it did cross my mind after I posted it!

The only card we hold in this deal is that the boy supports Arsenal, other than that, City & United have everything else over us, they are both on him big time from what I've read.

Where is Joel Campbell? We will be lucky to get thierry this window, dont see anyone else coming in, maybe one going out.

He's still out on loan at Real Betis, only appeared for them 6 times and hasn't scored yet. They don't show much La Liga here in NZ so haven't seen him play for them though i have seen a couple of Costa Rica games and he looks pretty useful albeit v pretty ordinary opposition. I note Sir Nick has yet to score for Juve also. Park C-Y would be close to the most successful of our loanee strikers out there with 2 goals for Celta Vigo.

So in summary, re-calling any of the loan deal strikers seems pretty pointless, Henry is destined to be our "January signing" and in truth, i'd still be pretty happy about that
