And even if we were 'lucky' it doesn't really add much to a discussion given you could just say we were 'unlucky' to draw Sunderland away in the FA Cup last season when all other Premier League teams drew lower league opposition.
We drew who we drew and we had some terrible performances which deserve analysis but we also got through. Talking about luck or unluck isn't really constructive.

The seeding system offers us protection we don't really deserve, look at our performances in recent years, getting knocked out at the 1st sign of a decent team.
its sad to say but now we are one of the sides the big guns would prefer to draw in the next round. we used to sit there hoping for a pub team second round but we are in that category. they'll be respect for us sure, as we always get this far at least but the favourite teams will expect to win.
The system is what it is and it seems to have worked well this year in that it has kept out a team that thinks it can buy every trophy. It took ages for the chav's money to buy it.

Taking away politics and the whole money thing and looking at it from the point of view of what's happening on the pitch, there's no way we should be seeded above a team with better players who are clearly superior.
The system is unfair but thats how it is. Blame Uefa for ruining the comp. When City manage to Stay in Europe then im sure they'd get a better group.
They may have won the league and they should have got out their group. its not our fault they could not even make the Europa league. Thats down to their manager who claims they were not ready. What does it matter who they are drawn with then.
Should the CL befor league winners yes. Will that happen no because the money they make off of it. Best you could hope for is a straight knock out.
That way a team like ours would have to work harder would they not?

Were not seeded cause of the state of the team, were seeded cause of getting in the comp the last 16 years. It may not seem fair but thats how it is.

the best thing the seeding system has done this season is to wake everyone up to where the prem stands in europe at the moment. regardless of where city were drawn, a few years back the english champions would've held their own far better than city have. in any group, the prem champs should've have been good enough to qualify.
End of the day if you good enough your good enough, don't matter where your drawn in.
