You can see the dire state of English football every week, the standard is diabolical. Players can't pass, head, cross, shoot, defend, tackle and it's not just us. It has been declining fast, partly because joke clubs like the chavs and the gypos are buying up talent that would previously have been spread around and sticking it on the bench. The TV money must play a part too, nobody even has to try to get rich any more, it just falls in their laps. It also attracts mercenaries in ever increasing numbers. Only good reason to watch the CL these days is to see the foreign teams who can still pass.

City's group was pretty tough to be honest, Real who are one hell of a team and Dortmund who look top class.

I don't think English teams have had to face such tough teams in a group for a long time, I agree the PL is weaker though.

Chelsea Vs City said it all about how the english game has suffered. If that was an advert for 2 of the top teams in the league, then you know the rest are poor. None of the top team have shown any quality this season. from top to bottom this league is a shambles.

If you can't win it by throwing a billion quid at it that's a poor show. To not even win a game hints that under the pile of cash lurks a pile of shit club.

City should be beating Ajax no excuse for them not too. With the quality they have they should have done much better. They could have beatern real and nearly did in the opening game.

The English media hype, and twats like Clive Tydsley going on like we are better then we are. Does not help.

they are excellent teams but lets not forget city had at least a point away to madrid until they fucked it up. you would've of expected chelsea/man u a few years back not to be embarrassingly outplayed at home by dortmund. sure, maybe lose the match but joe hart was a one man show. as good as ajax appeared in some games, you would still expect six points there and far more competitiveness, you know that yourself.

I agree about Ajax yes, but the other two teams are pretty good.

Pretty much, you'd not be shocked if Mancini got sacked tomorrow tbh. I think Jose would have got City through that group tbh.
