It really wasn't. We were far too casual in the first half and even the commentators said it looked as though Newcastle were the fresher team. Newcastle even had a period where they had 70% of possession.

Newcastle held 55% possession, made over 100 more passes than us and their passing accuracy was 89% while ours was 82.5%. We weren't good for long periods and it was nowhere near the sort of performance we saw at Reading where we looked more like the Arsenal of old. Fantastic result and some individual performances. I thought Podolski was excellent for a change but Arteta, Cazorla and Jack need get a hold of the game and control it. It's part of the reason why we leaked so many goals.

Just watching the match replay. Something tells me that Girouds partner is likely pregnant. After his first goal he did the baby cradle swing thing, and with the second he stuck the ball under his shirt. Definite omens of the pitter patter of tiny feet.
