No, but using the quote 'I'm sure he'll be a good player but it makes you wonder where our priorities lie' to make the leap to 'fans raging' makes him a journalist, and I mean that in every sense of the word except the actual definition.

It shows what the priority of the club is, to be some sort of pioneer for the development of young talent. When do we ever push the boat out to the same extent for a player we actually need?

I'm not against this signing at all, he looks like an exciting prospect, however I'm just baffled how we readily spend this much on a rookie but seem put off by the prices for established players who would actually go some way to improve us.

Tbf, 10m whilst only being on a modest wage (presumably) isn't very close to paying 18m for a top player on decent wages in my books, I guess it does show that somethings been dislodged somewhere as all this activity has started to gather pace.

Tbf, 10m whilst only being on a modest wage (presumably) isn't very close to paying 18m for a top player on decent wages in my books, I guess it does show that somethings been dislodged somewhere as all this activity has started to gather pace.

I think paying that much for a teenager who won't bare fruit for a few years is no more crazy than paying more for an established but maybe overpiced player, when it's the latter we actually need.

The only way I can let this slide is if we prove we do have serious intentions by buying another player like Gervinho who goes straight into the first team set up.

The guy's got no bottle. He hides on the pitch. Sure, you could say the same about a lot of our players but this guy has got none at all. Yeah, if it's put on a plate for him he can sometimes stick it in the net. Yeah, he can dive and get penalties - and I'm not saying he shouldn't do that because our opponents are happy to do the same. Fact is, if instead of this guy we had a decent, gutsy, powerful striker up front, a real target man, we'd do a lot better. Anyway, all we have to do is wait and see what happens. With Chamakh and Vela providing the cover for RvP, we're doomed. These two wouldn't play for any other top club, they wouldn't even make the bench.
