I wonder if now is an arbitrarily good time for Barca to change things.

Captain Caveman is coming to the end, Alves surely can't keep bombing up and down the wing for much longer, Valdes is meant to be going, Villa is meant to be going, Sanchez is shit. Even Xavi is getting on abit. It seems a good time to chuck out some of the old guard and start afresh. And I do wonder when all this football, at such a level, will catch up with Messi. I know he's a freak but it will surely overtake him at some point.

They certainly need to bring in a proper CB and also a striker to take the heat off Messi. Messi is talented enough though to adapt his game if his body begins to show signs of wear and tear, I could easily see him dropping deeper and dictating play if his little burst doesn't remain effective.

It would also be a good thing if they stopped signing players from us, you think they would know better by now.

Is there a point to them signing a striker when Messi is the centre of their universe? Until someone's brave enough to adjust the team to tailor to not just to Messi's needs, they'll be stuck in a rut. A rut which involves them winning League titles tbf.
