I think the Spanish will do anything in their power at the moment to protect what little is left of their national pride, with 27% unemployment and their country well and truly down the shitter the last thing they need is to be seen to be the root of all sports cheating for the last 7 years.
Might not even be the Spanish driving this, could be other interested parties who are happy to see things nipped in the bud. Either way, a cover-up hardly promotes the Spanish national identity. They'd get a lot more credit in the long run from being open about these things. The economy could improve but the glory years of Spanish football may be tarnished for ever and deserves to be after this shambles. It's like the Olympics, when you look in the record books it makes sense to discount every East German and Chinese entry. Unfair maybe but stuff like this sticks.
