What has it been devalued by though? The league started in 1888, not 1992 after all. It was THE one to win up until then...

I think the league title has in my lifetime has always been more valuable than the FA cup and rightly so, but the fact that United who have won five of the last seven league titles have made only one cup final in that time suggests that it's not a trophy the big teams care about anymore. And i think the FA have officially devalued the competition by putting the final on at teatime, it's for me almost as bad as the the European cup final being played on a saturday evening....total nonsense.

Once upon a time I'd watch every cup final even if Arsenal weren't involved because of how prestigious I perceived it to be. Now it's just like the League Cup, as in it's a bit shit unless your team is involved.

Well I certainly agree with both of these - utterly idiotic senseless decisions.

But there are poor quality league games too. Hell, look at City - QPR last year. A mistake-ridden mess. Yet it gets a Sky-sponsored free pass. Ludicrous

For all their supposed quality, City sure do lack quality.

Well it was a bit of a dramatic finish (still doesn't trump 1989 Anfield and for the life of me i fail to see how anything ever will) but it's money isn't it....where as religion used to poison everything now it's money.

They have four or five top quality players the rest of their squad is pretty average, thus why they got shown up so badly on the continent.

Samir Nasri's final ball is almost as bad as Gervinhos'

Indeed so, indeed so. It's the fact that fans have been ensnared by something that is all about money that really grinds my gears, but there y'are. Anyway, there is a match to watch...!
