There is no way we’d get big money for this guy. You have to be a beast of a defender to command such a high fee and no big club is going to want him. I don’t care about the fee to be honest. I just know he shouldn’t be starting for us. It’s not over for him. He just needs coaching and we should just keep him on the bench.

It's an important role in the team and besides defensive qualities, we need someone that has good ball retention skills, knows how to protect the ball and make good passes without playing a team mate into trouble. I once thought Toure could play the DM role but he played there once and he looked out of sorts. Maybe it could work for Verm but it's no easy transition and more than a dog chasing a bone type of role. His negligent style of defending could be just as costly in the middle. We'd still need positional discipline but I suppose we wouldn't get punished as harshly compared to defence.
Works for Luiz because he's technically very sound. Verm is more gung ho and relies on his powers of recovery, I think it's better to keep him because there aren't many sides with a 3rd choice CB as good as him. Wouldn't be surprised if he left though.

if Verm is now 3rd choice then using him as DM, maybe in the cups, may be an option. may also mean it keeps him sharp for when he is needed. but his discipline as you said is the worry
