I personally wouldn't want it. He's already saying he doesn't think we should be trying to sign Higuain or Rooney. He'll just undermine the manager.

Ray Parlour insists Arsenal would not be taking a massive risk in signing Wayne Rooney and claims a move to the Emirates Stadium could boost the striker’s career.
Tony Adams has warned Arsene Wenger against making a bid for the Manchester United star, as he believes the temperamental 27-year-old would struggle to handle life in London.
But Parlour does not share his former team-mate’s concerns and wants Wenger to press ahead with a move for the England international, whose future at Old Trafford is uncertain.
“Wayne Rooney is a quality player and he is at that sort of age where he should have matured now,” the ex-Gunners midfielder told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast.
“When you are young, you do things you shouldn’t have done. You just have to learn from it. I certainly did that.
“He might need a change from Manchester United. He is a fantastic player so, if there is anybody of that calibre on the market, I'm sure Arsenal must be looking for him.
“That’s where they have struggled since [Robin] van Persie left. [Olivier] Giroud did OK last season, but they definitely need more firepower.
“It might be a new challenge for him. He can go to Arsenal and become a hero if he goes there and bang in 25 goals. And I promise you they will create lots of chances for Wayne Rooney.”

    Agree with Parlour.

Wazza needs a new challenge and what's a bigger challenge than taking a club content with not winning a trophy to winning one?

You know it's the right thing to do. Come home, Wayne.

This is why you are easily the best poster on here. I mean, I am strongly against that pungent pile of canine excrement making our patch his home, but still I can't disagree with the view you've posited here.

the risk is it might go the other way. he might become disillusioned and start trumping around the pitch sulking, like many of our players have done.

its a risk ill be willing to take though.

    It's time we took risks.

    We have no choice.

    We have no choice?!

We need to sign some quality, clearly. Would he improve our squad? Obviously. Is he the only player who would? Obviously not.
I'm somewhat warming to the idea of Rooney if only because it would show we're serious about showing some ambition this time.
It doesn't sit well with me though. All the celebrity circus around him.
