1800: Damien Cregan from Monaghan writes: "As a Man Utd supporter it is sad to see the demise of Wenger and Arsenal. Everyone and his dog could see the problems in the squad over the past number of years, and why they were not sorted out only Wenger knows. I was listening to Mark Lawrenson on the radio the other day and he pointed out something that I think a lot of people missed - that is Sir Alex started to be nice to Wenger about four years ago. He knew it then and most are just seeing it now. Wenger is probably one of the top three coaches in the world, but he is not a great manager, in my humble opinion. Anyway Chris what is this fascinating story you are dying to tell?

"
To be honest I thought nobody was interested! you're the first person to mention it. In regards to Arsenal, I have to agree that Wenger is paying the price for not addressing the problems that, as you say, everybody was pointing out for the past few years.
I think they are further away from winning the title now than they've ever been since they last won a trophy.
