I had a revelation last night. I have made sense of our transfer dealings so far.
I believe we we're serious about Higuain. If you think about it, 20-25 million is quite a bargain for a player like him. Then the valuation supposedly changed to reflect probably a 130% of his 'true value and Wenger isn't prepared to pay anywhere near that.
Suarez is interesting. I believe that Wenger is purely in for him because of his ban. This way, we can approach the deadline with a ready made excuse that some people will fabricate for him. "Don't worry that we haven't signed any players even though the season has started! We are after Suarez and therefore it doesn't make a difference if we get him now or on deadline day! He is banned anyway! "
