Hmm, seems that the "Sun" has become a little bit more creative in their name dropping. Can´t see the deal happening, because Ginter seems to be keen to remain at Freiburg for at least one season and will then probably join a bigger German side (I personally hope, that the interest of Dortmund turns out to be concrete).
IF Arsenal manages to land that deal, it would be a major steal by them and also a big improvement. Ginter is in short the biggest CB talent in Germany right now and also a big reason, why Freiburg, a club with one of the smalles budgets in the Bundesliga, managed to finish 5th in the league.
He can also play DM, but his strengths are clearly in the center defense IMO. He has outstanding composure and maturity in his play for a 19 year old. On top of that, his passing range and accuracy are really good. Biggest weakness right now is probably his behaviour in aerial duels. That is a field he needs to work on.
Another good indicator for his huge potential is the "Fritz-Walter-Medaille". The medal is an annual award, which was established in 2005 and rewards clubs for outstanding youth development. It works like Olympic medals and includes four categories (U17/U18/U19/Women), so the best possible outcome for a male player in his youth career would be three gold medals. That scenario never happened until now, though. However, Ginter is one of the two players who managed to win it twice (2012/2013). The second player: Mario Götze (2009/2010).
