Tevez's bust up with Mancini wasn't based, or rather, wasn't sprung because he wanted to leave as such - it was some petty reasoning about Mancini having already asked him to warm up and refused to do it a second time. Then he went off to play some golf, whilst they had Aguero, Balotelli and Dzeko scoring numerous goals.

Point is, even the worst scum like Tevez can be brought to heel. We're all assuming Suarez is a scumbag in every respect, maybe he'd want to play. I doubt Judas would have wanted to sit on the bench had we forced him to do what honourable human beings do.

But at the time no one knew what the clause was, what it meant and even at what price it was. Now that is much clearer, after Taylor's comments especially.

Given there has been nothing from either side, or from Suarez himself in the intervening period, it looks fairly likely no talks took place. Officially, anyway.

It took them until April to bring Tevez back! And that was when the club's title aspirations looked to be down the swanny (after the defeat to us).
