This is what Wenger should have done at the start of the window.

The fans are buzzing.

I was at the Villa game and the atmosphere was extremely glum. Nt one fan there was excited football was back and you could see it on the pitch. Benteke and Anthony Taylor then destroyed us and Wenger should have walked then.

But now hope is rekindled

I'm still not thrilled with this window - but what a signing!

That said - if there was a transfer strategy and this was our target all along, it was pretty much impossible for it to be done earlier than the end of the window. Had Ozil been dealt earlier, RM would probably have had to part with more for Bale.

I hope we are in with a shout in January and make further moves in the market. A good start and this statement of intent could make us an attractive proposition for top players.

The Ozil signing has masked what would have been an absolute "car crash" of a window, but it is a superb signing none the less, bonafide world class player.

Still think we need a CB to compete with the 3 Senior ones we currently have and a Striker is also a major priority.

Assuming we can get through the season with Giroud, Poldi & Theo taking up the reigns, a World Class Striker should be the priority next summer.

I personally think the Ozil signing will open the floodgates in terms of attracting the best.
