I could be wrong though. I was spectacularly wrong about Ramsey - as were many others. When you think about what he went through and the flack Ramsey subsequently got from a significant portion of his own support - it makes what he has achieved even more remarkable.

Make no mistake - Ramsey is a strong character.
Indeed, no doubt Jack lacks the maturity of Ramsey, and probably some of the smart self-awareness as well. Rambo gets slated for being interviewistically dull, but he is giving the textbook, non-answers of a seasoned sports pro. Speak in generalisations, remain non-committal, and never ever say anything controversial.

On the other hand, Jack's propensity to wear his heart on his sleeve probably means he'll get a lot more leeway from supporters.
There's a lot of goodwill toward him and the desire to see him do well. He'll be given every chance, and he's never lacked for determination. The hardest fight he'll have is with the flaws in his own character which apparently Ramsey didn't have.

My biggest worry about Jack, is where are we gonna place him in this team? Our #8 and #10 are amongst the best in the world and they're both young and in Ramsey's case he's probably staying at Arsenal forever and Özil will only leave if we get a super silly offer for him. If he could develop better defensive skills, i could see him be a better version of Arteta, but i dont think he is mature enough for that right now.

You don't have to play everyone at the same time though - think of it as the start of a strong squad, where we can rest and rotate at will...

I think if you're gonna be amongst the best and Jack certainly have the potential for that, you need to be playing as much as possible and not be a rotation player. You need to atleast be a part of the starting eleven and right now, i dont see how he should make it in to the starting eleven as long as Ramsey and Özil are playing.

    omg

We beat Dortmund on their own patch
NOTE: The location of this post has been moved and the thread title (which was previously Wenger is Leaving) has been manipulated by a notorious pro-Wenger moderator. What was previously a message that contained no profanity and made a comment on a real life event has now been manipulated by a deliberately provocative title. An old and crude propaganda and censorship technique.

I might be in the minority but I don't rate him that highly, he's a good player don't get me wrong but nowhere near the player he's hyped up to be.

I don't really see a place for him in the team as it stands, he's a decent sub but that's it. IMO his career record with regards the impact he has on games with assists and goals isn't great.

I also don't really like his behaviour off the field, it's not really Arsenal and to be honest quite childish at times.

what exactly has he done wrong off the field? not that i really pay attention to footballers gossip but as far as i can make out, the only thing that has hit the press is him having one cig during a night out. now i could be wrong here but he hasn't been racist, hasn't been pictured smashed out of his face vomitting everywhere at 4am and nor has he slept with thousands of women who are not his girlfriend. he's gone out a few times, (haven't we all) but generally not done anything to bring the club into disgrace.

while its fine to doubt his ability in becoming the next messi, its clear he is talented, we can disagree on how good he is and thats fine, we both have valid reasons but you keep bringing up his behaviour off the field and i just don't get why. its not bad at all

If Jack were Ned Flanders, he'd be the Canadian version (allegedly).

Obviously there's the ciggie, but there's also the comments about English players and the national team and all the Twitter stuff he posts which I have to say are cringeworthy at times.

Anway more to the point, he seems to have built up a massive reputation without really having had much to do for it, he's been injured more often than not in recent times. Once he proves himself on the field then people can rave about him, but the odd moment here and there really isn't enough, thus far in his career he's been guilty of overrunning the ball.
