He'll strengthen in the summer and that 45 million will come in handy, I think the team isn't as he wants it at the moment, they'll be stronger next season.
That £45m will go towards either Falcao/Cavani/Costa in the summer

If you look at it they kinda have, they're only 2 points behind in the league and have got through in the CL. If they were 10 points behind you'd have a point but they are right in it at the moment and since Mata is largely not playing his sale isn't going to change anything for them.
So with Mata in the side they'd be sweeping all before them?
the 45 million doesn't really come that much in handy because they can't spend it given they made a 50 million or so quid loss this year, they have to make a 3 million profit or something close to that next year due to FFP regulations. its gives them some money towards it but not new players.
he's selling his best player of the last two seasons to united. you hammered wenger for that when he did it, find it odd that you are making excuses for mourinho here. Mata is a star player who has won everything he possibly can in football bar the title, every manager bar mourinho has got the best out of him. id say that tells us more about mourinho then mata
not quite my point. my point was they were better last year and year before with him in the side. played better football and won both european competitions and the cup. the only trophy they will realistically challenge for this year is the title and i don't think they will win it. so yes mata in the side was better IMO.
Yeah not even sure how that works, clubs are making losses left right and centre, think you'll find the money will be spent.
Mata isn't their best player though is he, he's a bench player who has no future in Mourinho's team, the equivalent would be Wenger buying someone expensive, never playing him and then selling him.
Chelsea will challenge for trophies regardless, that's just what they do by hook or crook.
Just curious, if Mata is worth £45m, how much would Cazorla go for ?
