Just read Wenger's comments about how he might not sign anyone on SkySports
Wouldn't mind just Berbatov really. We do need a striker though.

I wish he'd play this sort of thing close to his chest. I think he's right but Arsene will look a fool to say such things when he sold RVP to Man Utd.
As long as there is a transfer window half way through the season then situations like this can always come up.
I would personally get rid of this transfer window. Clubs should get their shit done in the summer and be made to live and die by that.
Yeah. We don't mind paying if we really think they're worth it [Sakho and Allen for example] though we even haggled, and nearly lost out, on Suarez too.
We're definitely looking after the pennies, which is a nice thing after the Kenny/Comolli era and to some extent, Rafa. But at some point we have to say that the prospect of CL is a greater reward than a million here and there. Especially when our fall backs of loans have been, to a man, dire. I think we have to accept that we are going to ripped off at times; not every transfer is going to be a bargain.
I don't actually agree with the above about January though. All I can see happening there is teams panic buy and take even bigger gambles in the summer because they know that is all for the year, even more than they do now. I'd prefer both transfer windows done away with, but that isn't going to happen.

I have mentally prepared for the fact we probably won't bring anyone in. Interestingly Suarez's new contract is reported to have a 70 million pound clause in it which I don't think is totally at odds with the idea that we could have signed him at 50 million last summer.
Haven't been too impressed with Ozil recently, but he's doing pretty good so far overall in terms of his stats of assists/goals/chances.
Those would be higher if he had better opportunities in front of him really.

When Lewandowski signed his contract or whatever at Bayern, there were stories about Mandzukic being on the market. Now, obviously that isn't going to happen this window because Lewandowski doesn't start there until the summer, so Mandzukic still has a spot. But what about when Lewandowski does arrive? I don't really know enough German football to gauge whether Lewandowski's arrival will make Mandzukic surplus to requirements and thus available. I'm assuming that Lewandowski won't have signed anything without assurances that they saw him as their first choice striker.
