I have really thought about this issue, and I have to say that I think I know where Wenger is coming from. I remember going onto Blue Moon a while back and trying to argue with a bunch of real twats about why what the likes of Citeh and Chelsea are doing to football is fundamentally different to what we have been able to do in the past as a so-called 'big' club. It may sound like sour grapes - and maybe there's some truth in that if you are a smaller EPL club. But what Arsenal has never been able to do is to stockpile 30M plus players, and use their transfers to try to hurt the competition. In Citeh's case (and Real Madrid; Barca fall into this category), their spending power has distorted the market so much that even Europe's traditional big clubs can't compete. In Chelsea's case - I have no doubt that Mata's sale was indeed agreed to by Mourinho because it might mean a point or two against Chelsea's competitors. I am sorry, but when financially doped clubs start to be able directly to influence leagues in ways that are unrelated to performance on the pitch, football starts to die.
