But it must sting to watch a total collapse. Maybe I'm wrong, but I'm starting to question how good Fergie really was. He had a very good back staff team around him. If Moyes hadn't changed things so much would the results be as bad?
Moyes needs to be given time. Some people seem to forget he is Scottish and therefore a great manager by default. He'll keep them up, have no doubts about it.

If you're the chairman, how can you justify not sacking Moyes? He's been a disaster and it was always obvious he would be.

Ferguson's biggest strength was to get players motivated to attack effectively, all the time. Whether that's through fear or encouragement or by whatever means. Tactically he was never particularly great but he never needed to be.

I couldn't trust Moyes to compose a side to make the Champions League, no matter how much time he is given. Ok so he did it with Everton but that was a season when the team finished fourth with 61 points, that's nowhere near enough now.
