But seriously, Bayern have gone shitter this season. Last season, they had legs and power in midfield through Luis Gustavo/Martinez as their DM, now he's playing Schweinsteiger and Kroos and there's nothing there. Then you add in that Mandzukic is abit shit, Ribery is slow as hell now, and Robben is a cunt. He added in Goetze and Thiago, when they are warming the bench

Guardiola has tried to turn them into a mini Barcelona, it's just not working, don't know why he's so obsessed with this type of football, I think it's dull as dishwater to watch.

When asked about his thoughts on Chelsea-Atleti, Robben said he didn't care because he watched the first leg and that had nothing to do with football.

Moruinho is funny sometimes. Hard to argue with that. A lot of talk about style in the press today.

    Another one from Simeone.

Use what you have effectively. Certain players have attributes that will suit a style and if you can’t adapt then you need to either change the style or move players on that don’t suit your style. Over the past week, we’ve seen how defensive football can be boring but also how attacking football can be just as boring with that Bayern Munich display.

It's hardly surprising though, given that style has dominated world football, domestic and international, for the past 8 years or so and has won him a ridiculous number of trophies in that time.

Personally, I don't even necessarily disagree with you in preferring more direct, counter attacking play, though I wouldn't go quite as far as saying Guardiola's style is dull. At it's best it is as direct and quick as Real were, where I think it falls down is when you have no one making a run or space and end up keeping possession for possession's sake.

Yeah he did dominate, but that was an exceptional group of players with Messi thrown in, I still didn't enjoy watching their football a lot of the time though, there were times where it was very good however.

There was no need to change the style at Bayern, it was already a winning formula, I guess it's to do with having to stamp his identity on the team, after all he was always onto a loser after they won everything last season.

Possession football just doesn't do it for me though, it often takes too long to create anything, the excitement of quick attacks and being able to destroy teams in the space of 20-30 minutes is more stimulating IMO.
