The club needs much more than that. It's not just the practical side of getting a decent signing in, it's the psychological angle and the statement of intent. What the fuck message are we giving out digging around in the waste bin for our rivals' cast-offs? And it's not just the transfers themselves. We were already a laughing stock before Sunday, now it's worse, opposition fans and managers are actually feeling sorry for us! And what about our board, and the manager and our scouts and medical staff and coaches and the list just goes on. We're fucking up everything right across the board. Spending a fraction of the amount raked in over all those years on zero activity in the transfer market was never going to be the solution but it would at least create a boundary (real or wishful thinking) between the shite that has been occurring and the perhaps something more positive to come. What do we get instead? And admission (finally, fucking, fucking, fucking, fucking, finally) that we need some experience in the team but no, fuck off, we may NOT have any quality in the team, that;s not allowed. The bare minimum is what we get.
I hope this Arteta, Benayoun shit is just a wind up or some sort of misdirection. But if not, what's really happened here? The cunts have kept the money again! Even after the worst humiliation we've ever witnessed and on the back of a degrading collapse last season, they;re still going to keep all the fucking money. Or made even simpler, somebody, the board, that manager or both, is calling us all a bunch of cunts. Thanks for your money - you cunts! Now fuck off and die. That's what they're saying to us.
