Have you been following M'Vila then, since he moved to whoever the hell he's playing for now? This is the first time I've heard him mentioned for ages...

Have I been following the Russian league or wherever he is? Not really mate.....but I just presume he still has the requisite ability and won't cost us the 25 pieces of silver going rate that Southampton charge for parts of their well oiled machine.

His name has fallen into obscurity somewhat but I do think that is to do with simply playing off the radar. At least in part. Whoever we opt for I really don't see why the window should pass without us making a singing here.

I really hope we're not just being teases with the Sanchez talk - he looks pretty close to the ideal attacker for the way we play.

I reckon Schneiderlin would also be a smart move for us - obviously someone mega like Pogba or Martinez would be the dream, but assuming that's not on the cards, then I reckon this guy probably ticks more boxes as a defensive midfielder than anyone else we've been linked with on that area so far?

I am still not 100% convinced Sanchez is on the market...Barca have not been as vocal about his availability as they were with Cesc.

Anyhow, if he is on the market I think whoever buys Sanchez will need to pay up in both transfer fee and wages, his stock is rising fast, he already had plenty of admirers prior to the world cup.

If we are in for him and he is interested I really hope we don't mess about with lowball offers. Sanchez is as good as we are going to get this summer, he's a top top class player and very versatile, I really want him here.

I have a very bad feeling that the easy assumption I had about us signing quality this summer is in the process of turning into oh look, we've signed fuck all apart from utter shit. It was a safe bet we'd sign quality, big quality. Tons of cash, first trophy in ages in the dusted down cabinet, Ozil. What else was there to do except build on it and push on? But the inactivity so far, the fundamental lack of credibility that goes with every press rumour associated with us. The Fabregas thing, is is a signal of massive intent, or part of an ongoing strategy to keep the money and piss on the fans? I'd have said no way to the latter, they just wouldn't, couldn't do it. Now? I know the World Cup isn't over yet, but I have a bad feeling about this.

We have money and know it's there to be spent, however our strategy remains the same, frustratingly.

The only difference now is instead of beating around the bush for average players, we can we beat around the bush for top ones. I believe Ozil was a fluke born out of circumstance and I'll believe that until I see us deliver more premium players.
