We simply have to sign some defenders though - have to! If it's true that Vermaelen is going, then we can't go into the season with just 2 CBs, 1 junior RB and 1 GK. Well, most teams wouldn't anyway...
We just don't make things easier for ourselves. A very rock solid defence last season. The sort of foundations that helped us mount a title challenge and we can't help but pick away it. I hope we're not selling Verm to United but when I hear £11m for the transfer fee, you just know those greedy sluts at our club will be wet for this sort of deal. I hope they prove me wrong. We've got a lot of work to do this summer. Many gaps to fill. I hope they have a plan in place.
