Really enjoyed this world cup - been some great games with late drama & I think the "no easy games in international football" quote has come to the fore more than ever.
Looking at the way the teams have played, many resorting to a longer ball approach with quite a few goals coming from the long diagonal ball, makes me wonder whether the Barca & Spanish effect has moved on. The best players in the world Messi, Ronaldo, Suarez, Bale followed by the new kids on the block Neymar, Sanchez, Hernandez -they all have pace & the will to get past defenders. This is what we missed in a massive way last year especially when Theo got injured. However Theo is always inujured so we shoudl not be expecting him & only him to give us this ingredient next year. A Sanchez, Di Maria or a Griezman is a MUST for us as a team. Ozil will come alive with the options they will give him, Rambo will score a hatful with late runs into the box to score of crosses from these guys & Giroud can only benefit in the same way. Wumger has to act here or I fear another year of Giroud bashing & waiting for Ozil to come to the party.
If this is the way forward for many teams, we also need to heed the warning. Merts done a great job last year but he's extremely slow & getting slower - Should sound Madrid out about Varane, great partnership for France with Kos.

according to Ballague, both scousers and cheats want sanchez to be part of the deal.
I would hope Sanchez isn't keen to be used as a makeweight in a bigger deal. Bet you the druggies try to run the price on us and put us out of the running.
