Oh wow, if we do get Bender in addition to Sanchez and Debauchy it would have been an amazing summer. Can't criticise Wenger at all.
Add in a backup GK and possibly a CB if we let Vermelean go then it's almost perfect.
Think Flamini will probably have to leave if Bender comes in with Arteta serving as the backup. Probably can get a million for him from some Ligue 1 team.

Although I am trying to be as optimistic I can, I am still taking the media reports with a pinch of salt. Although I do get a "feeling" that we may finally be able to say that we had transfer window come the beginning of the season (I do remember saying that this time last year though). I'm wondering if this has anything to do with Puma being the new sponsors, and they are pushing for us to make some real signings.
At least for me, the story relating to Bender is a regurgitation of stories past and I do not see us getting him. However, if we do get Sanchez and Debauchy then that (to me) is a real sign of intent. So if we are in for him and have those 2 signings wrapped up, then it makes us a considerably more appealing team to any other potential targets. So in that regard it would make any potential approach for Players like Bender more likely.
And Sebastien Frey? We do need a new keeper...
Obafemi Martins as the new striker and Phillipe Mexes as back up CB.
