A lot of why I think Giroud should not be the main man centres around games that happened way before the close of the season. Chances he misses and the lack of dynamism in his game is hard to ignore....even when he is scoring. Much as I like a speed demon, I am actually more willing to overlook that than most, but I think the most salient issue is his conversion rate which is poor imo. For his stature he could be much better in the air too.

To put it another way, there aren't many positions in the team that could be as easily improved upon as at CF. In fact, arguably it would be the easiest position for us to improve despite the money that goes with signing forwards.

Even if Giroud was in the class of Suarez.....which he isn't, but if he was, we would still need better back up for him than Sanogo.

Yes, he's not that prolific in front on goal and his movement needs work, something Arsene has warned him about twice already. He's easy to mark and his hold up play isn't even that good. The flicks he pulls off are 50/50. Read this during the World Cup but also noticed it was a problem last season when looking at his passing stats along with the actual performances. Besides having a loose touch and losing possession, his passing isn't all that great and it's not helping us to keep the opposition pinned back.

We seriously need someone better than Giroud. Even with all the options around him, in the big games you might only get 2-3 chances and I do not want them to fall to him.

Apparently Khedira has rejected Real's new contract offer, they have now put him on the market. Be interesting to see where he ends up...he won't be coming here if he wants the rumoured 150K per week.

FWIW, I really like Khedira as a player, I think he is probably the best CM of his type on the market and would like us to sign him. He would be a major upgrade on Arteta and I think he would be great partner for Ramsey.

Can anyone actually imagine a summer where we sign Debauchy, Sanchez, Khedira, Remy and a Keeper? How nice would actually be not to be criticised week in week out by pundits and fans for not strengthening! If all these players are signed we def have a championship challenging side - no doubt

I've warmed to the idea of going for Khedira - I still think he wanders a little too far afield at times, and he can look a little heavy-legged and cumbersome (although I should stress that that's just appearance, and not performance), but there's just something infectiously positive about the way he plays? The way he presses and hounds opponents is almost relentless, and everything he does seems to go forward, instead of sideways or backwards. I'm starting to think that a central midfield pairing of him and Ramsey could be a real handful - not sure he's worth 150k a week, but I'm guessing that would be open to negotiation (assuming that figure hasn't just been plucked out of the air, that is)...

I've seen a couple of sites today suggesting that we might make a move for David Ospina? Looks like a solid GK option, from what I saw of him for Colombia, and sounds like he wouldn't cost that much either...
