We're hearing that Chile forward Alexis Sanchez has now passed his medical at Arsenal and the 25-year-old's switch from Barcelona to the Emirates should be confirmed very soon. Alexis is understood to have agreed a four-year deal and the fee will be around £32million, money that Barca will use to buy Luis Suarez from Liverpool.
You're welcome, Liverpool.

2 great assists from Spurs last year and now Liverpool.
Hopefully Wenget continues to lurk in the shadows whenever Madrid and Barca need to raise funds for a big signing.

Just spoke to Arsene. He's very happy about Sanchez and Debuchy

So with Henry it wasn't the principle, it was the amount of cash. Did he resist our transfer efforts so vehemently because he knew the big Barca transfer was in the pipe? Did he need that extra year so Sanchez could sign a new contract and bump the fee? Whatever, for all his talk and criticism of smoking weed it turns out he's just another money grabber. This deal has gone through like it's on rails, Suarez chipping in himself with the biting incident. However, with Liverpool losing their best player abroad and us bringing in a player almost as good in Sanchez, we end up in an even better position than would have been the case had we signed Suarez last year, imo. Ozil on the books, Sanchez for £8mill less than we offered for Suarez, Liverpool weakened, us considerably strengthened. Whoever they end up buying won't be in the same league as Suarez. And the £8mill should go most of the way to bringing Remy here too. Not bad at all. All's well that ends well and Henry can stick that in his pipe and smoke it.

A man could get used to these £30-40m signings...
