Society is now one polished horde
Formed by two mighty tribes, the bores and the bored.
"After all, it was the Gunners’ goalkeeper who started the move that culminated in Thomas’ crowning glory. It was Lukic who, in injury time, decided to throw the ball out to Lee Dixon rather than lump it long..."
In my mind this is for me the best German side to win the World Cup, doubtless there have been great German players like Beckenbauer, Maier, Klinnsmam, Brietner, Muller etc. But as good as some of these players have been, it's hard not to see them as spoilers who would nullify the more creative opponents. This side has more flair, more creativity than any previous Germany team and without doubt they were the best team in the tournament without being just efficient.
To win in South America, to beat the two biggest sides in South America whilst doing it....I think this German side will go down in history as a very special one, eclipsing maybe even the Spanish four years ago.
NOTE: The location of this post has been moved and the thread title (which was previously Wenger is Leaving) has been manipulated by a notorious pro-Wenger moderator. What was previously a message that contained no profanity and made a comment on a real life event has now been manipulated by a deliberately provocative title. An old and crude propaganda and censorship technique.

Paul Merson
Arsenal lads celebrating
Also, Podolski and Schwensteiger's kiss
Argentina missed about 3 or 4 really good chances and should have punished the German's high line. However, Germany were the best team in the tournament and deserve their world cup.
Pleased for the 3 Gooners and hope they bring the positive vibe back to the club. Messi didnt look bothered at times and walked around the pitch looking lost. Should have taken what looks like his last world cup (he'll be 31 in Russia).
Is that the least happiest person holding a world cup you've ever seen?
It's over for Messi and it was over a long time ago for Ronaldo, although I'd say he was closer than Messi ever was to being acknowledged as genuine all time elite because he did the business for two clubs in two different countries whereas Messi has been cosseted at a dominant Barcelona his whole career. Frankly the comparisons to Pele were ludicrous anyway, there's a guy who is synonymous with the World Cup and delivering at the pinnacle. Maradona, obviously a genius technically (like Messi) but lots of question marks and baggage there too. Zidane ranks higher than Messi and Ronaldo in my opinion. He's the one who should be spoken of as a challenger to the title of greatest ever, although it's hard to see how Pele will ever be surpassed in terms of achievement.
