See also Chelsea with the Remy move yesterday after Torres left as well.

Sigh, as things stand it's going to be another year of battling for top four. Utd have strengthened considerably and Chelsea and City's squads look imperious as always. All that good feeling after the FA cup win and the Alexis transfer almost completely gone .................

Oh well off to do some work. We better make a signing when I return.

I come from Essex apparently it has a domestic violence problem, not surprised if the women are anything like you guys. You sound like You've gone on holiday with Wenger and he's forgotten to pack your hair straighteners after you've constantly reminded him and your subjecting him to a barrage of "I don't ask a lot from you"
We need three players and after yesterday I was far more concerned about the chances Leicester City created, I'd be far more mortified if we don't get in defensive cover before the window closes. The striker solution is simple stop playing Sanogo, just because Wenger likes putting square pegs in round holes doesn't mean Podolski is a wide man he's a striker and in my opinion a lot better than L'Adulterer

I guess Stan was here yesterday to ensure the chequebook was safely locked away. Fucking hell - the Glaziers are the tightest, greediest cunts imaginable but even they know when you have to dip in the wallet.
I don't think you can blame Gazidis or Stan for this one. They were happy for Wenger to spend on Sanchez and Chambers. The striker situation is down to Wenger not wanting any of the players on the market.

This is why you can't really leave transfer day until 11pm. It would be too much of a shock all in one hit.

Do you think Wenger really sees Sanogo as an answer? If he does, the fair enough he's a lunatic.

It's better to burn out, than to fade away.

There were strikers on the move this year but it's only really Balotelli that I felt was a quality striker that was gettable. Bigger/richer clubs seem to have got the others. Last summer was the time when a lot of good strikers leaving their clubs. Even someone without pace like Higuain - I think Wenger would've gladly spend £32m on him today if he was available.

We don't look to sort out positions, we just try to land good players. and this way we've ended up with an unbalanced squad. Too many attacking midfielders and wide forwards, but not enough central strikers or lacking quality at defensive midfield.

Of course he does. Even if he doesn't have £50m to spend on a striker, we have plenty of options. Internal options with Sanchez and Campbell or less expensive players with Remy, Eto'o, Balotelli and whoever else has moved in this window.
