As a fan of the club you can't say winning a trophy is the worst thing that can happen. On the day, whatever your view on the manager, who would want to lose? It's not about winning the FA Cup. It's about our only dedicated striker (assuming you discount Sanogo as a credible option) getting injured until next year. He needs replacing. Apparently we're not going to do that. That's the problem.
There are other problems too (as well as pluses in the form of Alexis and Chambers which shouldn't be overlooked). But the most pressing problem is we have a few hours to address something we were lucky enough to get away with last season but haven't managed to get away with this time around.
That said, if Wenger decides Sanogo is an option he has lost all credibility with me and I would think with the majority of the fans. It'll be rough from here on in if that's his decision, especially in light of the availability of one of the best strikers in the world at a comparatively small cost. I hope he's going to sign a top tier striker. I think it's not possible now unless some miracle happens. I;d settle for him signing a stop gap at least, to avoid seeing Sanogo again. But if he doesn't then all the other things you mention will be coming up soon enough. He'll have made a pretty thorny bed for himself if he ignores the obvious again today.
