He's got good instincts, in terms of making the right runs at the right times - if he stays positive, and keeps getting in the right places, then the goals will come. I really don't think he needs to do too much more than calm things down a bit when he's about to pull the trigger?

I never thought I'd be holding Özil up as an example of how to finish, but he should be looking at Özil's goal as a good example to follow. Improving his finishing doesn't necessarily mean he has to drastically improve his shooting technique and accuracy - it can just mean going for the simple option, and almost passing the ball into the net, and I really can't see that it would take much work to get him doing that...

I've seen some of misses and he seems to like that dink over the keeper in one on one situations. It works when the goaly is off his line but a lot of time the GK knows what Wellbeck will do. I'd prefer him to actually go for a real finish and build confidence from that.

I just keep thinking of the way Henry used to finish for us. You'd rarely see him hitting the ball at a hundred miles an hour off his laces into the only spot he could possibly place it in - most of the time, he'd use some variation of a side-foot, whether he was opening his body up to bend it round the keeper, or simply rolling it underneath them as they rushed towards him, and he scored goals for fun like that. Not all successful strikers have to be super-sharp-shooters, who can flash a ball into the net with half a chance - others can be more about clever use of momentum and movement, and using that to fashion more straightforward chances for themselves that don't require such incredible finishes? This is the direction I think we should be pushing Welbeck towards...
