Watching the big teams in the CL play quick, exploise WINNING football just highlights how far shite we are. Madrid, Dortmund, Bayern, Barcelona etc are all a few steps ahead of us and we have no chance as long as they are left in the competetion.

Madrid, Bayern and Barca are just lightyears ahead of everyone else. It's incredible.

As much as I hate to say it, I think the only other team who could keep up is Chelsea. And that's only because Mourinho is a massive scrote and would set out solely to stifle them.

No disgrace in getting taught a lesson by one of those three. They could have scored at will last night.

I hate to be that guy and put things into perspective; but just watched the highlights of the match between APOEL and PSG. PSG with Cavani, Lucas, Matuidi, Thiago Silva in that side got completely outplayed away to APOEL (a side in no way better than Anderlecht) and they also relied on a last minute goal to get them three points.
This is not to excuse Wenger and the performances of late, but games like Anderlecht happen to teams with more talent in their side than us.

PSG are also domestic champions, made the CL last 8 for 2 years and have already knocked off Barca this season.

They had an off day, we didn't.

And they have also spent ridiculous amounts of money

Again I'm not defending Wenger, I'm talking about the one result that's why it was posted in the Champions League thread

And with no offence to Ligue 1 it's not exactly difficult for a club like PSG to win.

You said you were putting things into perspective when I don't really think you were. We're all disillusioned because we've seen dodgy performances like this on a consistent basis, that's why there has been such a bad reaction. I do take your point that weaker sides can upset the stronger ones on any given day, but it really wasn't just a bad day at the office like you alluded to.

MO has it exactly right. A bad day at the office for teams we rate as our competitors is an anomaly, whereas for us a good day at the office is a pleasant surprise.

PSG also have the defensive midfielder sewn up in Blaise Matuidi, have star quality all over the pitch and have produced one good performance out of three in Europe, plus they are in a league which is arguably only the fifth strongest in Europe.
We have only lost once in one of the toughest leagues with a ridiculously unbalanced side with a shambolic defence, the results aren't good enough I know but the point is it can be put into perspective. It's not saying we can't and shouldn't be doing much better, but no pressure is going to be brought to bear on Wenger because from the boards point of view he's doing a fantastic job and that's all that matters.

Little bit odd that in almost everyone of your posts you have to drop in the disclaimer that you aren't defending Wenger.
