I hear you, but there is always something fishy about them in a league where 1 team wins despite all reason. They now have the former Milan coach who seemed clueless at best and still winning it again at a canter. They were not that great in the CL group stages either. But I digress....

Yeah, the Italian League was permanently damaged after the scandals and it's been pretty poor ever since. Roma are only a few points behind them this season though. Juve should definitely do better in Europe. They're solid but unspectacular. They won't thrash teams but they won't get beaten easily either. It's hard for Italian teams to attract the big names that could help them challenge on the big stage now. They pick up the best of the rest, like Tevez, Higuain and Llorente or scraps like Torres, Robinho and Gervais.
