Not really sure why any of these players care about being selected? Doesn't seem worth it for 3 matches in Russia where they're probably going to get booed, insulted, ridiculed, have bottles and lighters thrown at them, have their bus mobbed and attacked, have the fire alarm going off in their hotels every night, etc, etc - think I'd rather be off on my holidays...
That's what I think too. And I wouldn't be against it. It's just about the one team he can't fuck up, and it'd be interesting to see if he could introduce a bit of football into the England set up, rather than the pub hackathon we are so used to. Of course he wouldn't be able to select Xhaka, so that might deter him from taking the job.
