True but I think the competition might be too small if they did, I can live with 2nd at least they are generally in the title race, 3rd and 4th not so much, maybe a CL place should automatically go to all 4 CL semi finalists and both Europa finalists.

There's a 3rd competition coming as well, so 2 places for the 2 finalists in that too.

If anything it's Champions League football that induces egos isn't it? Certainly beyond actual achievement.

At least 3rd/4th came with some uncertainty due to having to qualify before - none of that now.
