Sorry.
Boris says the common sense of the people will get us through this fight against an invisible enemy. And if we apply that common sense we'll be fined up to £10K.
Okay. We've allowed them to issue and enforce decrees like these, so this is our fault. It is what it is. But let's look at it from a practical perspective.
How does a person who has been laid off and is living hand to mouth on state handouts pay a 10K fine? Or even a 1K fine? How does it work?
I guess it goes something like this:
People who still have businesses and jobs pay their tax as usual.
The government borrows increasing amounts of money to supplement a falling tax take, which will eventually have to be paid back by the people who still have businesses and jobs and pay their tax as usual.
This tax and borrowing is then distributed to people who don't have jobs or have lost their jobs and businesses. People in this group who are fined then use the money they have received from government (via taxpayers) to pay government imposed fines should they commit crime such as visiting their friends and family or conducting unauthorised socialising on their own private property. And I guess, considering people who have lost their jobs and businesses probably won't have £10K just lying around, these fines will be paid in stages, over time?
Logically, could we then say these fines, in part, are a tax increase for those who still have jobs and businesses?
I guess those pleasant chaps (salt of the earth types, you know them) who turn up and steal goods from private homes will be busy too. At a time when people are increasingly stuck at home because the outside world is shut, the government will be sending goons to clear out savings, TVs, games consoles, cars, jewellery, business assets, gold teeth? Turn 'em upside down and shake hard.
Will there be jail (sorry, I mean enforced quarantine) for those who can't pay and have nothing to take away? Big camps maybe. And will inmates be required to work off their debt, for the glory of the motherland? Sounds silly, but now we hear the army might be enforcing curfews on British streets, why not go all the way? To save lives.

i love the way McDirenalds wants its heart-attack centres to be considered 'restaurants' - right up to the point at which it suits them to be a fast food joint...

What an epic, epic, cunt. We agree with facist Tory pigs, but we could do a better job of fascism. Vote Labour for big pharma lockdowns, abuse of civil liberties, and more handouts that wouldn't even be necessary if these cunts weren't locking everything down directly in the face of science and data that shows them up for the lying, manipulative bastards they are and always have been.
This is what you get when you hire a Sir to represent the man in the street. Who could have expected otherwise?
We now have a choice between a tinpot fascist dictator, a wannabe tinpot fascist dictator, and Lib Dems (lol) Every last one of them owned by big business.

Well it's good you can think, at least.
