Poor
Edu out!
NOTE: The location of this post has been moved and the thread title (which was previously Wenger is Leaving) has been manipulated by a notorious pro-Wenger moderator. What was previously a message that contained no profanity and made a comment on a real life event has now been manipulated by a deliberately provocative title. An old and crude propaganda and censorship technique.
So beating Spurs wasn’t the turning point then?
Was at the game, good for first 15-20 mins then awful
We showed a bit of spirit right at the end to get the draw but overall it was dire
What the hell has happened to Tierney, all the attacking play has gone almost and he passed backwards most of the time instead of trying to beat people
Odegaard didn't work as well as i'd hoped further back but was generally poor anyway
Everyone kept giving the ball away, White in particular was bad
I'd say Gabriel and Ramsdale were the only two that were really solid
Arteta needs to get them playing a lot better than this or the pressure will build again

Perhaps it is difficult to transition from long serving manager to a new manager. look at United... and Fergie left them as a title winning team. They have spent a shed load of money.
We may not be top 4 for another 10 years+. it could be a case of we need more than just a good manager. top 6 should be achievable.
It was Wengers time to go as you know but people did overdo how easy it would be to replace.
I wasn’t bowled over by Emery but his first season showed some promise.
There was a Wengeresque collapse at the end and we lost the Europa League final (yeah, take a year off winning the final when you’re with us, Unai. Cheers for that!). But overall it was a reasonable season. It felt like a reasonable base to push on from. But the following season was a bloody car crash. I don’t think any of us felt Arteta was “the answer” but he has the Arsenal connection, he worked under Pep, he talked a good game and is pretty likeable. Most people were willing to give him a chance. It’s hard to know what to make of him. Last season the run up to Christmas was literally relegation form. From Boxing Day onwards we looked pretty good. It all added up to a poor season but the run in gave him a stay of execution and the money spent in the summer suggests the board are backing him. But so far this season it’s been a mess. They just look so disjointed, it’s really hard to see what they’re trying to do. I think it’s time to move on and get someone with real experience in.
I never saw getting rid of Wenger as a silver bullet. There are problems at board level which a new manager won’t fix. That said I was fairly confident that a new manager would improve things and get us heading towards the top 4 again. I never expected us to become quite this awful![]()
