What has gone wrong at both Chelsea and Man Utd ?
Should either ETH or MP be sacked in January ?
Does anyone here, have even the slightest amount of sympathy for either of them ?

Awful player recruitment process.
Man United for example - Casemiro one of the best defensive midfielders in Europe, but the caveat is that he played in a league that’s no where near as quick or technical as the premier league.
There’s also a clear lack of leadership. Fernandes, Varane, Rashford, Maguire none of them are leaders on the pitch
I also question the thoroughness of their scouting process. Onana and Hoijlund for example. The latter was clearly identified as a kind of Haaland, although he lacks any of the attributes
Of course there is a downside with the management. Ten Haag is a bit standoffish im led to believe, doesn’t take feedback from his players and is robotic in his interactions with them.
Chelsea, Boehly has just gone berserk with signings, and really things are so chaotic there that it’s hard to separate the wheat from the chaff. Is Mudryk better than what he’s shown for Chelsea? Possibly….certainly given time Havertz could prove to be. But I think it’s just impossible for anyone to do a good job there right now.
Think Ten Hag will definitely be sacked before Poch. Chelsea are useless but arguably have a higher ceiling than United’s squad.
I rate Poch. I mean, he turned Spurs into credible title contenders, and got them to the CL Final. Spurs! But he should be doing better with the squad he’s got.
But it is difficult when you inherit a complete mess. I mean, Emery crashed and burned at Arsenal, doesn’t make him a bad manager - he’s showing his quality at Villa.
I don’t put Poch in the same bracket as Pep and Klopp but he’s not the idiot you make out
Chelsea lack a striker but the main problem is they aren’t a team. You need a settled side to play together to know each others strengths and weaknesses. And like Man United they don’t have a leader on the pitch.
They have many excellent individual players, but there’s no identity.
It's just an urban myth, he got lucky with a young Spuds side which had in-form players like K*** etc and just went with it, he demonstrably can't turn things around once they go awry, he just starts bldating for more money, plus he has one of the mosy punchable faces, he could be Macauly Culkin's dad
That would make more sense as a thesis had he not massively improved Southampton in his time there too.
Not really much of an argument is it. I get it you don’t like Spurs and you found it laughable that Arsenal fans said we should go in for Pochettino four/five years ago. But I think it’s hard to argue that he didn’t do a very good job there in his time. I think he lucked out with Kane for sure, but he was the one who brought in Son and I think he unquestionably made Eriksen a better player and as much as I hate to say it…there was a time when they had a better team than us and it wasn’t even close.
I think Crocodile Greeky is doing a good job there as well, despite their collapse they are still in touching distance of us. They do have a bit of a cavalier all or nothing mentality which is somewhat naive but I think it’s clear the players and the fans I speak to like him.
But again (and I say this despite knowing it’s not a high bar to get over) Pochetino probably the best manager that lot have had, going all the way back to El Tel.
