I don’t like that Newcastle is owned by MBS’ PR guy. And their fans all sound like they’ve got learning difficulties. But as you say it’s not an important trophy in the grand scheme of things, and I wouldn’t begrudge them winning something after so long
Going out of two competitions in a week wouldn't be a great way of going in to the international break.
