I’ve been of the view for a while that Saka can play in the middle, so it’s totally conceivable that he and Nwaneri could link up well.
Of course that’s a case of whether Arteta would do that. But I suppose with Nwaneri we don’t have to rush Saka back before he’s ready.
I wasn’t watching, as tradition dictates, but I was being kept updated.
I have to say before we scored I was thinking “HCZ woz rite” in terms of how much we are going to struggle with all the injuries up front. And it is worrying how much we laboured against the side which now have the worst defensive record in the league (although Southampton have a game in hand to reclaim that crown). Somehow this season we just keep finding a way. Head says we can’t keep on riding our luck but maybe we can muddle through till Saka returns. Nwaneri (sp?) is a ray of hope.
May as well start Merino up top the next game because the false 9 front 3 isn’t going to cut it.
An expected win today but hard to see how we are going to get away with it against the better teams.
Defensively we're so strong it will still give us a chance in so many games.
Merino is now, statistically, the most effective striker in the league. His goals per 90 is 2, more than twice Salah's 0.93
If Salah keeps on going he'll get 35 this season, and if we keep Merino up front he'll finish with 28 goals. But Merino will only have played 14 games up top, so when that's taken into account Merino would actually get 76 goals in a full season, easily beating Salah.
Für eure Sicherheit
He's scored the same number of goals as Nunez apparently![]()
From what I gather Sterling should never be anywhere near the first team again maybe only to hand out the half time oranges (do they still do that or am I showing my age)![]()
