Should we get past PSV, we’ll face one of the Madrid teams.

Arsenal 1-0 PSV 2022
PSV 2-0 Arsenal 2022
Arsenal 4-0 PSV 2023
PSV 1-1 Arsenal 2023
From thinking the CL was our best hope, I think I'm starting to pivot back to the league
Even if we beat PSV the CL opposition is too strong for us in the state we're in IMO
But if we do the job tomorrow and Citeh can beat the scousers on Sunday, it has to be declared back on for the PL, we can maybe pub it through if Liverpool stumble
If they don’t beat City and Newcastle and win the next 2 which includes a mega tough game at Forest, then you have to say it’s back on despite our lack of options.
But given the state our squad is in I’m just thinking about the next game and only that. Every match feels like a banana skin now with the makeshift front 3.
What probably needs to be noted about Liverpool is that whilst they may be dropping points they aren’t losing
Yeah a draw may only yield one point, but defeats are damaging to morale. And they are coming away from games thinking “we can’t be beaten”
To a degree the same is true for us, although we don’t have Salah as a get out of jail free card
However we have not conceded more than two goals in a game nor have we lost after taking the lead in over a year.

We haven't lost in 15. Hopefully City batter Liverpool and they start to wobble a bit. But with 3 points for a win a couple of draws can be damaging enough.
With a full squad I'd be pretty confident of putting some real pressure on. As it is...we have somehow found a way to muddle through so far this season. Nwaneri is a ray of hope. If Saka can come back soon then maybe we have a chance of doing something.
My understanding is that it’s hoped Martinelli and Saka will be available for our game against Fulham on April 1st. So that’s six games we can expect to be without them
If we are five points or fewer behind Liverpool by then, it’s up for grabs.
Liverpool would probably like a cushion by the time May rolls around where they have to play Chelsea away, us at home and Brighton away.
To be honest after the City game with the exception of maybe Fulham away, Liverpool have far easier fixtures than us (in my view) between February and May
Newcastle (H) - Newcastle haven’t won at Anfield since 1994 and have lost on their last three visits
Southampton (H) - Lol
Everton (H) - Yeah don’t see Everton taking points off Liverpool on a title charge at Anfield
Fulham (A) - Always depends what Fulham turns up
West Ham (H) - Not as Lol as Southampton but still
Leicester (A) - As above
Tottenham (H) -![]()
