He’s a a bit of a wild player but he’s demonstrated his confidence in forward areas. Whether he can hold the ball up or not and do everything else required of a striker I don’t know but he’s as good a bet as anyone right now to get a goal.

Oh I have zero objection to playing him up front, I guess all I’m saying is that like Merino you don’t get to be a professional player in a completely different position only to discover you had a hidden talent enough to make you a proficient forward.

Whoever we play up front is a square peg in a round hole, it just comes down to a question of degree.

I have to say at this point, there’s only one player who I definitely wouldn’t want to be playing up front and that player is Raheem Sterling. Even with the space we had in abundance last night he was embarrassingly poor. But it’s not his fault, his legs have gone….sad to watch in a way. But we really need to stop persisting with him, he’s not going to get any better.
