This is just more goalpost shifting. I'm not talking about individual games.
You lauded Liverpool for keeping winning even though the title was all but won. You asked why they kept bothering. My answer was simple - because they hadn't actually won it. The minute they did they took their foot off the gas. That is what happens. And it is what has always happened. However much nostalgia you have for past generations of footballers, human nature hasn't changed.

    2nd isn't important
Yeah, we've covered that. You didn't want the 4th place trophy but you do randomly want the 2nd place one. You did try to explain why but it makes no sense to me.
Of course you want to finish well but the title had realistically gone and we had - still have - a CL semi-final to consider.
That said, while I don't think 2nd place is the be all and end all that some people seem to think, I'll still be disappointed if we get caught, I understand a certain consideration of CL games, but the complete collapse we are witnessing has been pretty pathetic.

Oh and I know you and your kind very, very well.
Still suffering from the Dunning-Kruger, I see.
The problem here is you're not talking about some subject which we may both have different opinions about and have to read about. You are trying to talk about me. That makes me the sme and you the random internet person who has never met me and massively overestimates their abilities of discernment.
I suspect your real issue with me is that I'm a mod here so your deep suspicion of anyone with any vague authority has kicked in. Very much a you problem, that.

Point being I get why, given the above and that the title had long since stopped being realistic, and given the fact we were in a Champions League semifinal, a bit of loss of focus in the league.
This is not some crazy new thing. The sides NQ eulogises with his rose tinted glasses did it too. Multiple examples have been given.
All that said, it’s the run of poor form which now worries me. It’s less than ideal going in to the game on Wednesday. I am strangely optimistic though - in as much as I don’t think it’s as inevitable we are going out as some seem to think. Head said no, heart says you never know.
The year we won the Cup Winners Cup we finished fourth by 20-odd points, I'm pretty sure I read it was because Graham focussed on the CWC

We were more of a cup team then - we weren't good enough to compete in every league game. Adams notes this in his autobiography.
Expectations are higher now, people are less willing to accept us focusing on the cups. But context is important here. We weren't in the title race - because there wasn't one this season. So I get why there may have been one eye on the CL games. I'm still finding the continued slump annoying and worrying. If we go out on Wednesday then we really need to sort our shit out and finish strongly. It won't be much comfort but it's better than nothing.

Like I said - you don't have a clue what winning is. If you genuinely think there's a connection between a 4th place "trophy" and failing to secure 2nd when you fucked up 1st - it just proves my point, while sadly you (I think genuinely) believe you are making a point. Did you watch the Liverpool match?

Letters, I was chatGPT long before chatGPT - you gave me more than enough to know exactly who you are. Not that I needed all of it. 2 or 3 data points with you is compelling.

Then why are all your pontification about me incorrect? I know they're incorrect because...well, I'm me.
Just like your pontifications about my church which were all incorrect.
Your "analysis" of the USPS interview, I went through that in some detail, you got basically everything wrong there.
Your thoughts on why they were delivering tests in uniform and what it would lead to.Need I go on?

All this stuff you get demonstrably wrong. Your inability to admit that is baffling, as is your continued rock steady belief in your "abilities" despite all the evidence to the contrary.

Well the funny response would be, because I'n chatGPT.

But honestly, you make things so transparent, by accident. As I said - you voted Labour. What else is ther to say when you strip it all down to the basics? That tells us exactly who you are. It's like saying, there were a million reasons, but in the end I shot the jew in the head. And now - that's not a commentary on Labour and jews, it's a remark about innate evil.

Why would you justify yourself if I'm not right?
